Erika Cerda

Marriage and Family Therapist, Intern

As a Marriage and Family therapist, my goal is to help clients find clarity, acceptance, and a happier life. I love working with a diverse group of people who are ready to dig deep and make changes. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I specialize on issues related to anxiety, couples/relational issues, identifying cultural values and managing stress.

I believe it is important to understand how experiences throughout our life impact us. I focus on identifying core beliefs created through life experiences, and how they are impacting the way we view ourselves and our current problem. I use a variety of models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. I enjoy helping couples identify how each partner influences each other and what is moving each partner away or closer to their common goals, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman and Prepare/Enrich.
